Warm your bones with new winter brews from DavidsTea

By Giselle Wedemire

Temperatures are dipping, and mitts and toques are starting to make their annual return to Canadians' outfits. With this increasingly nippy weather, snow is inevitable, so I've got my winter jacket on stand-by just in case I wake up to a blizzard one day (which, truth be told, is always a terrible sight to behold first thing in the morning).

Softening the blow of winter's return is the allure of warming and comforting beverages of any kind. Whether your poison is a mug of hot chocolate, a pot of tea, or a gigantic thermos of coffee (no judgment), there's plenty of choices out there for those of us who constantly need to warm our bare hands against a hot mug of something in the winter.

I'd make a predictable Game of Thrones joke, but instead I'll say this:
just looking at this picture is making me crave a hot cup of tea.

If you're looking to warm your bones with a spot of tea this season, you'll be excited to know that DavidsTea has recently released their winter tea collection. Of the six brand new brews, a whopping four are vegan! (Don't believe that some of their teas aren't vegan? Check out our comprehensive list of vegan DavidsTea flavours here.)

Missing from the above list are the new Hot Chocolate and Snow Day teas, which both have milk in them (gross).

All of the winter collection teas are limited edition and can be found in the company's Winter Collection box set except, curiously, the Banana Nut Bread, which seems to be promoted as a standalone winter collection tea.

Of these season-appropriate flavours, I'm curious to try out the Banana Nut Bread tea, and I'm interested in seeing how the Mulled Wine tea stacks up to real mulled wine. Perhaps a taste test is in order (because who can pass up an excuse to taste-test wine?)

What vegan winter tea from DavidsTea are you most excited to try? Are you as miffed as I am that the Hot Chocolate tea isn't vegan? Let me know by commenting below, or by tweeting at @PickyBitchez.
